Ukrainian House

Nordrhein-Westfalen Krefeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen
Est. 2007

Ukrainian House, based in North Rhine-Westphalia, has supported Ukrainian migrants through cultural initiatives since 2007, building bridges between the old and new homeland. It organises exhibitions, discussions and cultural events and takes part in solidarity work for Ukraine.

Ukrainian House (Ukrainskyi dim) was founded on 9 March 2007 and is based in the Rhineland (the Krefeld/Düsseldorf area). It is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Germany.

The association aims to support Ukrainian migrants through cultural initiatives and to build “bridges between the old and new homeland”. It sees itself as a place of cultural integration and connection.

Its activities include exhibitions — such as of Ukrainian pysanky (painted eggs) — panel discussions, cultural exchange programmes and community events.

Since the Russian war of aggression began in 2022, Ukrainian House has taken part in solidarity events and in the psychosocial support of refugees. The chairwoman was, among other things, a co-initiator of a major solidarity rally for Ukraine in the Ruhr region.
