Ukrainian Association Augsburg

Bayern Augsburg, Bayern

The Ukrainian Association Augsburg supports people affected by the war and helps integrate Ukrainian refugees in Augsburg. It combines a Ukrainian Saturday school and library with psychosocial counselling as well as cultural and sports activities.

The Ukrainian Association Augsburg is based in Augsburg (Bavaria) and is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Germany. Since 2020 it has run the city’s Ukrainian Saturday school.

Its mission is to help people affected by the war in Ukraine and to support and integrate refugees in Augsburg and the surrounding area. The association sees itself as a centre for cultural, psychosocial and educational services.

Regular activities include the Saturday school for children aged 3 to 14, a Ukrainian library, psychological counselling, art-therapy workshops for children, a psychology course for women and integrative sports activities.

Since the Russian war of aggression began in 2022, the association has focused strongly on humanitarian aid and psychosocial support: it cares for traumatised children and women, manages financial and in-kind donations and organises the supply of relief goods.
