The association Ukrainians in Aachen has represented the Ukrainian community in Aachen and its city region since 2022. It supports refugees with integration, nurtures Ukrainian culture, advances the town partnership with Chernihiv and provides humanitarian aid.
The association Ukrainians in Aachen (Ukraintsi v Aakheni) was founded in 2022 and represents the Ukrainian community in Aachen and its city region. It is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Germany and is led by a board.
The association advocates for the interests of the Ukrainian community and for upholding the democratic, peaceful order in Germany and Europe. A central project is the town partnership between Aachen and Chernihiv, which the association helped initiate and has supported since 2022.
Its activities include film festivals and cultural events, integration support for refugees, cooking courses and educational formats such as “A Journey Through Ukrainian Literature”.
Since the Russian war of aggression began in 2022, the association has provided humanitarian aid and collected donations — including for medical supplies such as certified tourniquets, whose availability in the war zone can mean the difference between life and death.
