German-Ukrainian Society Kiel

The German-Ukrainian Society Kiel has fostered cultural, social, academic and economic relations between Germany and Ukraine in Schleswig-Holstein since 1996. Since 2022 it has also been active in Ukraine aid.
The German-Ukrainian Society Kiel (DUG Kiel) was founded on 26 February 1996 and registered at the Kiel District Court on 25 June 1996. It is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Germany.
The society’s purpose is to nurture and deepen cultural, social, academic and economic relations between Germany and Ukraine. With nearly three decades of continuous work, it is one of the established German-Ukrainian societies in the north of the country.
Its activities include cultural events, educational and exchange programmes, the promotion of academic and economic ties, and membership and donation programmes.
Since the Russian war of aggression began in 2022, the society has supported Ukraine through aid and donation campaigns and accompanied the Ukrainian community in Kiel and Schleswig-Holstein.
