German-Ukrainian Society Heilbronn
The German-Ukrainian Society Heilbronn (founded December 2024) builds bridges between cultures. Born out of peace demonstrations, it fosters intercultural encounters, educational projects for children and aid campaigns for Ukraine.
The German-Ukrainian Society Heilbronn (DUG) was founded on 23 December 2024. It grew out of a group of people who have been regularly campaigning in Heilbronn for peace and the freedom of Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022.
The association sees itself as a bridge-builder between cultures. Its goals include promoting intercultural events, educational projects and aid campaigns for Ukraine. The board consists of Anastasia Kosak (chairwoman), Anna Fedorenko and Vira Marushchak.
Planned activities include a Ukrainian education programme for kindergarten and school children, groups for singing, hiking and discussion, aid collections for wounded people in Zaporizhzhia, and intercultural events conveying Ukrainian history and culture.
