Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organisation in Germany is the German branch of Plast, the world's oldest Ukrainian scouting organisation, founded in Lviv in 1911 by Dr Oleksander Tysovskyi, Ivan Chmola and Petro Franko. The first Plast pledge took place on 12 April 1912. Germany became Plast's first diaspora base in 1946, when the first gathering of Ukrainian Plast scouts abroad was held in Munich.
Plast operates across five age groups – from Plastovi Ptashata (from age 3) to Plastovyi Seniorat (35+) – and accompanies its members throughout their lives. Regular meetings (Skhodyny), camps (Tabory) and training courses (Vyshkoly) provide education in Ukrainian language, culture and identity. The Ukrainian language is mandatory in all Plast activities.
Today Plast Germany has 15 active local chapters from Berlin to Munich and Hamburg to Stuttgart. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, Plast Germany has been actively engaged in humanitarian aid for Ukraine. The organisation also runs an inclusion programme for children and young people with disabilities.
